With all the events that happen during Spring and Summer you often find yourself needing a dress for a special occasion. It could be a wedding, graduation, birthday party, or a bridal shower. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to select multiple dresses (even more than one size in each) and have them SHIPPED to YOUR house for FREE?! Then you can try them on at your convenience, see what shoes & undergarments you already have that would work with each dress and then be able to send back the ones you don’t like, only paying for the ones you keep after a 7-day trial period?! Sounds to good to be true to me. But it’s not! With Prime Wardrobe that is EXACTLY what I did!.
When Prime Wardrobe first rolled out I was SUPER excited. I thought the concept was awesome. Similar to Stitch Fix but you pick what you want and there was no styling fee. My issue was this. Amazon prime is already SO convenient with free shipping and free returns that the only nice thing about it was not having to pay UPFRONT for any item you would receive. To be honest I had only done one box before this for that exact reason…it just didn’t make sense to me. But then I recently had a wedding coming up and was searching online and started thinking that Prime Wardrobe would be PERFECT for something such as a special occasion dress. So I went shopping and here is what I found!
First, lets list the Pro’s:
- Easy to use
- No Up-Front Cost
- Free Shipping
- Convenient
Then the Cons:
- Small selection
- Sizing is limited
I ordered 5 dresses total. I ordered the same size in ALL dress (Size 4 or Small). Prices ranged from $49-134. I rated them on a scale of 1-5. You can click on the name of any of the dresses below for it to take you to where you can shop them.
Lark & Ro Scalloped Ponte Fit & Flare in Scarlet (Small)
I LOVED the look of this dress! The scalloped hemline was so pretty. It fit great and the length was really nice. The fabric was a little on the thin side. The top portion of this dress was lined but the bottom was not.
Overall Rating: 3 (I do wish the quality of the dress was nicer)

Maggy London Fit & Flare Dress (size 4)
This was my favorite dress of all. The quality & fit were amazing. Loved the pattern (it also come in other patterns) and the length was great. It does have a tulle skirt on the bottom to make it appear more full.

Lark & Ro Women’s Sleeveless Sheath Dress (Size 4)
I did like the look of this dress and the fabric was nice however it has EXTRA fabric on the side of the dress, almost like they meant to add a pocket but never did. I am not sure if it was just the sizing of the dress and if I sized down if it would be better or if it was just not sewn properly.

French Connection Niko Stretch Dress (size 4)
This dress was a step out of my comfort zone. It had a way different print that what I usually go for but I did like it. The dress itself was “scratchy” on the outside. My mistake was not reading the review on it before ordering. I should have sized up 1 and did not so therefore it didn’t fit. I think if I sized up 1 it would have been perfect and I would have really liked it. My only complaint with the quality of this dress was the zipper. It was very cheap.

Calvin Klein Women’s Scuba Dress (size 4)
My 2nd favorite. This dress fit like a glove and the quality was MUCH nicer than the Lark & Ro. Sheath Dress above. I loved the color also. I felt it may have been a smidge too long on me but overall I really liked it.

There you have it! I really enjoyed Prime Wardrobe for this service and do see a benefit. Instead of paying over $400 to have these dresses shipped to me so I could try them all on, I paid $0 and had the convenience of trying them on at home. Win in my book and I will definitely do it again!
