My favorite holiday is quickly approaching! That’s right…I am one of those rare individuals who loves Valentine’s Day, and not because my husband showers me with lavish gifts or extravagant surprises. We keep it fairly simple around here and maybe that’s why I love it so! I love to spend the first few days of February decorating and setting in place a few simple yet thoughtful and unexpected gestures that make those around me feel loved and special!
These DIY Valentine holders were inspired by ones that I noticed in a Pottery Barn Catalog, they no longer have them, but if I can create these, anyone can! I am not crafty at all, I remember making these when my youngest was a baby, it took me a few days! The kids still love to surprise each other with little notes or drawings. I found so many different examples and directions, these are so cute.
I couldn’t resist this little Valentine’s Tree this year, so cute!
What would Valentine’s Day be without a little sparkle…these little hearts do just that!
I’m sure you’ve seen this idea pop up on the internet sometime recently, it’s my favorite! You take small hearts (some years I cut them out of construction paper, this year I grabbed them at the dollar store) and write one thing you love/a great quality they have about that child and tape it up on their door. Our kids love reading these hearts every morning and leave them up all year! Such a small and inexpensive way to brighten someone’s day!
Even though we tend to go pretty low-key. ( I grabbed some heart-shaped ravioli from Costco today…if that doesn’t say I Love You, I don’t know what does.) We still need to have some holiday attire. These shirts for the girls are perfect!
So whether this Valentine’s Day will find you alone, at a fancy dinner with the love of your life, or eating bites of heart shaped ravioli in between dance and basketball practice…grab that love out of the air and use it to spread a little sparkle to those around you!
