The Great Kitchen Remodel of 2018ish Part 2

So in the last blot post I shared that I was promised a functioning kitchen until December 25th… this was not the case!! I was given about 48 hours notice 1 week before Christmas to clear out the cupboards..my hours were numbered!  As life would have it this all took place the same weekend as our daughter’s Christmas show and the same week I was helping with the Santa Shop at our kiddos school! I was a disaster…but we made it through.

This was a picture taken from the living room into our kitchen on Decmeber 21st….mudding and sanding were taking place…that wasn’t dusty at all! (Just kidding) Have I mentioned I’m not the most “flexible” person, I thrive on structure….

We’ve have now arrived at the fun part! Painting, picking out counter tops, etc… and here is what it looks like today! Paint is on (not exactly the color we had envisioned, we have the worst luck with paint colors, but we are going to let it ride and see what it looks like once everything is in), some cabinets are built, and floors are going in starting tomorrow. We currently have hard wood in what was the office and  living room, we are having them put in the kitchen and all of them re-done.

Lots of exciting things happening!  I am super thankful for a handy husband! We will see what adventures this week holds! Thanks for reading and I do promise lots more recipes and “this is what we’re making” in my new kitchen!  Eek!

P.S. I have been able to set up a pretty functional kitchen in our basement bar. I have a sink, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. The crockpot is my best friend and I need to get brave and use my new instantpot!
